Shimul invites all its well wishers and general public to help in all possible ways. Donations by cheque or draft may be issued in the name of SHIMUL MUSIC CIRCLE to the following address 16 C Bosepukur Road, Kolkata 7000042. Donations are exempted from income tax u/s 80G of I T Act 1961.

 

Objectives

1.       To encourage and support cultural activities among the youth and promote the spirit of unity in diversity, communal harmony and national integration.

2.       To popularize the lesser known singers and musicians of Bangla and to increase awareness among the youth about the rich cultural heritage of Bengal- both in national and international perspective.

3.       To generate enthusiasm among music lovers in general and specially those interested in development of Bengali music including folk and classical music/dance and instrumental music over the ages.

4.       To conduct lectures, seminars, group discussions, training exhibitions and film shows etc. on Bengali songs of various nature including present and past and paying tributes to famous personalities of art, music and culture—either living or dead.

5.       To give assistance to any artist(s) or family members of any bereaved artist(s) in the field of music suffering from economic hardship.

6.       To perform all such further acts and things as the Society may think fit and conducive to the attainment of its aims and objectives.

7.       To publish or cause to be published useful literatures, papers, magazines, books etc.

8.       To acquire, establish, start, aid, run, maintain or manage primary schools, libraries, hostels, old age home, crèche, day care centre, charitable hospitals for the benefit of the public.

9.       To help the handicapped and disabled persons and make them self employed.

10.   To study, cultivate and demonstrate the art of music and dancing.

11.   To promote and encourage advancement of literary, cultural, political, religious and scientific education.

12.   To help the needy students of all communities for the prosecution of studies.

13.   To collect and preserve manuscripts, painting sculptures, works of art, antiquities, natural history specimens, mechanical and scientific instruments and designs.

14.   To help the aged, sick, helpless and indigent persons.

15.   To alleviate the sufferings of animals or other living creatures as may be deemed appropriate.

16.   To engage and assist in such other philanthropic activities as may be deemed appropriate by the governing body of the society.

17.   To construct, maintain, improve, develop and alter any buildings, houses or other works necessary or convenient for the use of the society.

18.   To do all such acts, deeds, matters and things as may be deemed incidental or conducive to the foregoing objects.

19.   To help needy members in case of sickness, accidents and death of such members.

20.   To improve the economic and social standard of the villagers of the locality.

21.   To attempt for the improvement of the village economic structure through Govt and non Govt. programmes.
